30 years of the Proximus Art Collection
Proximus celebrates 30 years of art with the anniversary exhibition "Conversation Poem" at the iconic Hôtel des Douanes at Tour & Taxis.
Thirty years ago, Proximus started a contemporary art collection based on one clear vision: artists help us see the world differently. They inspire us. They make change visible. They challenge us to look at things with an open mind. Today, the collection includes more than 400 works by Belgian and international artists.
Art that sets dialogue in motion
To mark the 30th anniversary of the Proximus Art Collection, a selection of 150 works has been brought together in Conversation Poem. The exhibition explores how art can stimulate genuine dialogue. Between people. Between ideas. Between art and the public.
The exhibition shows how opposites such as white and black, active and receptive, culture and nature interact and complement each other. Not to erase each other, but to create something new. In this way, they keep each other in motion and in balance. Like two halves that together form a whole, dynamic, peaceful, and harmonious.
You move through different floors:
- On the ground floor, there is an interplay between light and shadow.
- On the upper floor, the focus shifts to nature, the city, and the earth.
- In the basement, videos bring the future and creation to the fore.
The Hôtel des Douanes, with its symmetrical structure and east-west orientation, reinforces this tension.
