The Autrique House – Victor Horta

The Autrique house was built in 1893 by the young Victor Horta. The house was crucial in Victor Horta’s oeuvre as a breakthrough to Art Nouveau. It still contains typical characteristics of a 19th-century town house, but the Art Nouveau aspects are already very recognisable. The house has been beautifully restored and gives a good insight into the living mentality of the period.

The scenography was created by François Schuiten et Benoît Peeters. Also enjoy the temporary exhibitions that are often organised there.
