Hotel Solvay – Victor Horta

The landlord of this fabulous “hôtel de maître” was Armand Solvay, Ernest Solvay’s son. By displaying his preference for Horta’s architectural views in this spacious reception house on Avenue Louise, he immediately showed his own progressive convictions! Two light domes atop the roof to the left and right, each covering a light and ventilation shaft, are visible across the street. These light domes are essential structural elements that allow Horta to design the revolutionary interior you will discover on your visit.

To create his ‘gesamtkunstwerk’, Horta called on his friends from the Belgian art world, sculptors, painters…
A masterpiece!

This exclusive tour will allow you to discover the entire mansion with our specialist guides.
