Interior: historic artist’s residence & studio “Arthur Rogier
Sun 7 Dec • 15:00 - 16:00

Architect Paul Hamesse, a student of Paul Hankar, designed this townhouse with an artist’s studio for painter Arthur Rogiers in 1898. It’s a unique type of residence.
The façade, made of white brick with decorative red brick elements, is characteristic of geometric Art Nouveau. However, the ornamental ironwork on the basement window and the mailbox frame still reflect the flowing lines of the early phase of the style.
The most spectacular and surprising feature of this house is the space on the first floor, where the painter’s studio was located.
The house has been impeccably restored by its new owners, who have made optimal use of the existing spaces without altering the original layout.
Today, the house serves as a venue where young video artists are given the opportunity to present their projects to the public.
€15 of the ticket price is used to support future exhibitions.
