Walk & interior: Tour & Taxis (EN)
Sun 9 Nov • 14:00 - 15:30

We’re delighted to take you behind the scenes of the ever-evolving Tour & Taxis site.
We begin at the Royal Warehouse, where a scale model introduces us to the vast site, its history, and its changing functions over time. We also gain insight into new developments: which projects have already been completed, and what’s still in the pipeline?
From the Royal Warehouse, we take a look inside the vaulted cellars of the Sheds and then visit the Maison de la Poste (only during office hours). In the early 20th century, this building served as the administrative center of Tour & Taxis and later as a post office. After a recent restoration, it has become a stunning venue for hosting events.
As a grand finale, we discover the newly restored, monumental, and breathtaking Gare Maritime: a city within the city where it never rains. The gigantic halls stretch 175 meters deep and rest on slender cast-iron pillars with Art Nouveau elements. Built between 1902 and 1908, the station was once the largest freight station in Europe. Architect Jan De Moffarts (JDMA), together with Bureau Bouwtechniek and Neutelings Riedijk Architects—known for the MAS in Antwerp—renovated the building and added new elements that blend in beautifully.
For those with more time, the tour can be extended to explore the entire Tour & Taxis site: the development of the new park, the building of the Flemish Community, the IBGE building, and more.
