Art Nouveau : the house and atelier of Victor Horta

In 1898, Victor Horta built his own house with atelier in Saint-Gilles. Here we see a demonstration of his ability. Using light, air and space, he created a totally new plan structure for a town house and integrated a staircase into the living area. Much of the interior decoration was preserved: the mosaics, the stained-glass windows, the furniture, the murals form a harmonious whole. This can be seen down to the smallest details. A masterpiece!

The house of Victor Horta is UNESCO World Heritage.
